| The West Side VFD sent two members of their dive team to Plantation Florida for Rescue Dive I Certification. Pat Tobat, and Chris Hopkins attended a three day class from Feb 16-18 2008. The class covered Public Safety Dive Operations, search patterns in Rescue and Recovery mode, and also covered evidence recovery. WSVFD is also planning to send two more members of the dive team in the very near future. The dive team would like to take the time and thank all of the instructors that attended from Dive Rescue International. |

March 9, 2008 WSVFD has a drill on the Cold Water Survival Suits, and Cinch Harness, PFD'S. All members
that attended sat through a small class with Chief Dennis, and Asst. Chief Hopkins. After classroom training
was completed everyone went to the Cedar Hill Marina for hands on cold water training. Outside temperature
on this day was in the thirties and wind chill a lot colder.
