August 28, 2007 around 2000 hrs WSVFD was alerted for a vessel in distress on the Nanticoke River
ITAO Windmill Hill.  Rescue boat 12 made contact with the vessel.  The boat was secured until the
next day due to being grounded on a sand bar. RB12 brought all souls to land.  

Units responded: RB12, UT12, B12, RE12, Dive 12

September 1, 2007 around 1330 hrs Stations 9, 5, 12 were dispatched to a structure fire on Athol Rd.
Stations 9, 5, and Engine Tanker 1202 responded to scene. Rescue Engine 12 was placed at Station 5 for
Standby. Station 14 was alerted to standby station 9.  Around 1415 hrs Station 9 was alerted for MVA on Rt
50 near Delmar Rd. Engine Tanker 1402 and Rescue Engine 12 responded to the scene. All units arrived
and found two priority 4 patients. Units remained on scene for several hours, all fire personal turned scene
over to Maryland State Reconstruction Team.

September 13, 2007 1700hrs a United States Navy Bell Helicopter had to make an emergency landing in the field adjacent to
Ceder Hill Parkway. The Marine pilots were experiencing mechanical problems while getting his flight time from Patuxent, MD.
The pilots suffered no injuries. Pilot crew was transferred back via a H53 copter.  The helicopter was removed by Navy officials
on September 14, 2007 via Tractor Trailer.

September 15, 2007 1400 hrs Reported House fire at 20434 Nanticoke Drive. Upon
arrival house was fully engulfed in flames.  1215 established command Stations 5 and
9 also responded. Crews remained on scene after all flames were extinguished. Fire
scene was transferred to Maryland State Fire Marshall for further investigation.

House Fire: November 9, 2007 Stations 12,5,9 alerted for a reported house fire on Nanticoke Rd ITAO Bank Rd.  Station 12 units
went on scene with a two story wood framed structure with lite smoke inside the residence.  Upon investigation found a hole in
a chimney that had caught a floor joyce on fire. Station 5,9 units were returned, Station 12 units remained on the scene approx
one hour for overhaul and further investigation.

Assist: West Side VFD was alerted on Tuesday January 15, 2008 to assist Dorchester County on a seven alarm building fire
in Cambridge.  Engine Tanker 1202 responded along with six other fire departments from Wicomico County.  Pictures

Stand By At Mardela: On Sat Jan 26, 2008 one crew from West Side stood by
at Mardela for their annual banquet.  Around 1800 hrs we were alerted for a MVC
with rollover on Old Bradley Rd.  When units arrived found that all occupants  had
no injuries.  At approx. 2400 hrs Engine tanker 1202 was released to return to
quarters while in Hebron's first due, Hebron, Delmar, Mardela got alerted for a
house fire with entrapment.  Engine Tanker 1202 in the area responded, when
units arrived female subject was trapped on a outside balcony with several pets.  
Lieutenant Josh Pittas and 1202 crew threw a ladder and crews from Hebron
removed victim from the house to safety.  Female patient was transported to
PRMC for smoke inhalation.  All units cleared around 0130 hrs.

Brush Truck & Manpower Requested: On Friday March 21, 2008 Mardela was alerted for
a natural cover fire, upon arrival several acres of grass and woods on fire. Cmd 9-15
requested a Brush unit and Man-Power from Sta. 12. Also 74,14,5, and Dor. 11
Engine Tanker Requested: On Saturday March 22, 2008 Hebron was alerted for a building
fire along with Mardela, and Salisbury.  Units arrived and found fire in a large garage.  Cmd
requested a Engine Tanker from 12 and also a Stand-By crew from Sta. 14 to stand-by at STa.
9 Mardela.

House Fire: On Tuesday April 22, 2008 West Side was alerted for a chimney fire.  When the crew from
Engine Tanker 1202 investigated the residence they found fire in the walls on the number two floor.  The
alarm was then upgraded to a house fire and Mutual Aid was alerted from Hebron VFD, and Mardela
VFD.  After further investigation Mardela VFD was reassigned to stand by at West SIde FIre Department.
 
MVC 5/15/08: Stations 12 and 5 responded to a MVC
with Rescue on Nanticoke Rd, In front of Popular Hill
Pre-Release Center. 1217 established command
with one patient trapped. Crews from 12 and 5
quickly extracted the patient and transported to
PRMC.  Cleared the scene to MSP.
